Colette Hall
Saxophonist and arts administrator Colette Hall graduated with her Doctorate in Saxophone Performance from the University of Hartford’s Hartt School in Hartford, CT in May 2015. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Performance from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam in Potsdam, NY. In the spring of 2011, Colette served as Adjunct Professor of Applied Saxophone at Duquesne University and previously served as the Hartt Saxophone Studio Teaching Assistant.
As the alto saxophonist with the Resurgam Quartet, Colette has been an active performer, clinician, and commissioner. The group premiered its most recent commission from emerging composer Tanner Porter at the 2020 NASA Biennial Conference in Arizona. Resurgam Quartet is curating their own recital series featuring new commissions at WhiteBox, a contemporary art space in New York City and has appeared at the Queens New Music Festival and Hartford New Music Festival.
Colette is also currently the Artistic Operations Manager for the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. She joined the HSO in October 2011 as a part-time Ticket Services Representative and has since served as the Assistant Box Office Manager, Interim Box Office Manager, Artistic Coordinator, and Assistant Manager of Artistic Operations. Colette was the recipient of the Emerging Art Professional category of the 2017 Elizabeth L. Mahaffey Arts Administration Fellowship and designed her own residency with the New World Symphony. She holds professional memberships in both the League of American Orchestras and American Federation of Musicians (Local 400) as well as the North American Saxophone Alliance.
In addition to performing and her work as an arts administrator, Colette teaches private saxophone lessons in the Greater Hartford region. A native of the Hudson Valley area in New York, Colette resides in Hartford, CT.
