CGE 2023-24 Mentee
Tessa Stephens
My name is Tessa Stephens and I am a first-year undergraduate student at the University of
Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). I am studying saxophone performance under
Dr. James Bunte and Dr. Carly Hood. I am originally from Louisville, Kentucky, where I
attended the Youth Performing Arts School for high school. I have been playing saxophone for
seven years and I have attended music camps such as the Interlochen Saxophone Intensive and
University of Louisville Wind Band Institute. I am a classical saxophone major at CCM, but I
have experience with jazz as well, and it is important to me to keep improving in both! In high
school, I participated in the band program, jazz program, classical guitar ensemble, pit orchestra,
and composition workshops. I love music theory and all genres of music and I am always trying
to find new things to learn about!
